Meet the Doctor

Dr. Heidi Schirmer is a chiropractor specializing in pediatrics and pregnancy.  She graduated from Los Angeles 

­College of Chiropractic in 2006, earning top honors during her clinical internship. Early on she became interested in working with babies and children, discovering that many of the health issues facing our adult population could have been greatly reduced, if not prevented entirely with early treatment. While Dr. Schirmer’s love of pediatrics is clear, she incorporates-and emphasize-entire family care. She believes the role of chiropractic throughout the pregnancy and birth process is essential for the health and well-being of both mother and baby. Having trained extensively in chiropractic, homeopathy, Sacro-Occipital Technique, Neuro-Emotional Technique, Applied Kinesiology, cranial-sutural balancing, she is also certified in Pediatrics & Pregnancy, including the Webster’s Technique. Dr. Schirmer incorporates these techniques along with the use of gentle adjusting styles within her treatments and emphasizes holistic, natural care from birth through adulthood. Dr. Schirmer was born and raised in San Diego, and is the eldest of three children. When she was in junior high, Dr. Schirmer was treated by a lady chiropractor who changed her life.  Her experience inspired to follow on that same path. 

Four months before beginning chiropractic school, Dr. Schirmer experienced a serious low-back herniated disc injury which persisted for almost a year. She learned first-hand what many of her patients would come to her complaining of, including the limping, pain, slow recovery, etc. Whereas so many in our society would have turned to surgery to repair the herniated disc, Dr. Schirmer used what she knew (and loved!) would work – chiropractic – and she did heal completely. She is her own best testament to what chiropractic care can do when all hope seems lost and the pain seems so great you just don’t even want to get out of bed. She did it- so can you!
